Wild Life of Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh - this state is best known for its magnificent structures of which the Taj Mahal of course needs no mention, the holy places like Varanasi, Ayodhya, Mathura, Vrindavan, the numerous museums and galleries but what is often undermined or negated is its Wildlife. The Wildlife in Uttar Pradesh is quite interesting. Home to quite a few Wildlife Sanctuaries and National Parks, Uttar Pradesh has something in store for the wildlife lovers as well.

On your visit to Uttar Pradesh ensure that you do not miss out on the Wildlife in Uttar Pradesh. There has been a lot of discussion on its cultural diversity but Uttar Pradesh has a lot of geographical diversity as well. There are lofty mountains, lush green meadows, forests with a dense vegetative cover and perennial rivers in Uttar Pradesh. No wonder it harbors an amazing variety of flora and fauna. Some of the animals that are sighted in the wild life sanctuaries of Uttar Pradesh are rarely to be seen elsewhere, as for instance the gangetic dolphin seen in the National Chambal Sanctuary in Uttar Pradesh.

Swamp deer, chital, nilgai, wolf, leopard, hyena, gharial, wild boar, crocodile, alligator, chinkara, sambar can also be spotted here. The presence of these animals makes the Wildlife in Uttar Pradesh fairly rich. One horned rhinoceros, tigers and leopards on the other hand have made the Dudhwa National Park their home. It is also a great place to head to for bird lovers. A delightful variety of beautiful winged creatures can be seen here. And if you are lucky you can also get to hear their sweet voices.

Blackbucks are seen in the Katrnighat Wildlife Sanctuary while the Chandra Prabha Sanctuary is home to panther, chinkara, chital, partridge and peafowl. All in all if the call of the wild beckons you, you can surely opt for any of these wildlife parks and you will surely not be disappointed. So long you've had to remain content with watching them on television or on magazine covers but now you can see them ambling about in their natural surroundings. Visiting the sanctuaries and national parks to witness the Wildlife in Uttar Pradesh surely promises to be a very thrilling and adventurous experience.
